Wells Performance Materials Celebrates a Successful Exhibition at Interplas 2026

Birmingham, UK — 4 June 2026 — Wells PM has concluded a successful three‑day showcase at Interplas 2026, reinforcing its position as a leading innovator in additive masterbatches, bespoke compounding, and next‑generation PFAS‑free processing technologies. The event, held at the NEC Birmingham from 2–4 June, brought together more than 500 exhibitors and thousands of polymer professionals from across the industry. The Team were honoured that so many manufacturers took the time to visit the stand and see if Wells PM could help solve their processing and material challenges.

Of particular note was the visitor engagement at the show for the debut of Wells PM’s latest generation of PFAS‑free processing aids—a technology that has been widely recognised as one of the standout materials innovations of Interplas 2026. These new masterbatches have demonstrated exceptional performance in blown‑film applications, including metallocene‑catalysed LLDPE systems, delivering melt fracture elimination, reducing die lip build up, and improved processing efficiency.

Technical Leadership on the Interplas Insights Stage

A highlight for the company was the of the exhibition was the well‑attended technical presentation by Dr. Gary Ogden, Technical Manager at Wells Performance Materials, who delivered a session titled “PFAS‑Free Process Aids for Blown Film Extrusion” on 3 June. His talk formed part of the official Interplas Insights Conference Programme and underscored the company’s leadership in sustainable, compliant processing solutions.

Showcasing Over 40 Years of Innovation

Interplas 2026 marked an important milestone for the company, following its 2024 rebrand to Wells Performance Materials and celebrating 42 years of continuous innovation. Visitors to the stand explored the company’s expanded capabilities, including:

  • Advanced additive masterbatches and compounds
  • Bespoke compounding services tailored to complex material challenges
  • A fully equipped Innovation Centre, featuring recent investments such as a state‑of‑the‑art tensometer
  • A highly flexible manufacturing facility capable of scaling projects from laboratory to hundreds of tonnes

These capabilities have enabled Wells Performance Materials to maintain an unrivalled track record in transforming difficult‑to‑process materials into successful commercial product

Wells Plastics Founded

The business was founded in 1984 by Danny Wells servicing the UK with specialist additive masterbatches for the UK film and fibre marketplace, with a particular expertise in UV masterbatches.

1997
New Management

In 1997 Danny left the business, under new management the product range began to grow.

1999
Bactiglas™ Launches

In 1999 the business entered antimicrobial masterbatch marketplace which would become the Bactiglas™ range of products.

2003
Reverte™ Arrives

In 2003 Wells developed a range of oxo-biodegradable masterbatches which would become the Reverte™ range of products in 2005.

2006
Expansion

In 2006 the business began its first site expansion taking on more warehousing and office space on the same industrial estate, including an expansion of the lab facility to support the growing business.

Capacity Increases

In 2018 the business underwent a significant capacity uplift with a 40% expansion and extension of the current production facility

A Busy Year

In 2022 Wells created the Innovation Centre, a raw material warehouse, gained a Gold Ecovadis rating and completed a Management Buy Out
